1) Catch up on videos in the Harmony Horsemanship Connection Club. This is a great training resource where Lindsey Partridge posts SO MUCH good information on her Harmony Horsemanship training method that is truly something special. However, a lot of the videos are only available for 3 months, so now is the perfect time to catch up on her videos! This is a VERY affordable membership that offers a surprising amount of content. It is on a brand new hosting site too! You can become a member by signing-up here. |
2) Stay on-track with the Harmony at Liberty course. This is another opportunity for me to learn from Lindsey Partridge. Sorry this one is CLOSED because it involves 1-on-1 attention from Lindsey and they had to limit the class size. She does liberty completely without tools and at the end of working with her horses to film this course she took them to do liberty on the beach. Check out that video! There are weekly videos (either posted or live) for me to watch, so I want to be diligent in doing that. Also, once we watch the video we have a chance to practice what we learn and I want to be sure I do that weekly as well. |
7) Log more miles & hours. Horse events and competitions are getting cancelled. This mostly means I'll have more time on weekends than I had originally planned. I'm going to use this time to ride out on the roads and trails more. There are great programs to reward achievement in "trail" riding! My favorite is Top Trail (logo shown). Top Trail allows riders to record their rides outside of the arena via GPS tracking. Through Top Trail riders can set goals for themselves and their horses and can virtually compete against others by racking up the miles and ride counts. Breed registries also have programs for tracking. Zeke and I are participating in the TWHBEA Distance Program that logs hours. Luckily our NE state parks are still open, but if they close we will have the chance to become more comfortable riding in the fields and down the roads. |
